The Great Mosque and Darüşşifası of Divriği is one of the most important historical structures in Turkey. Built by the Mengücekoğulları in 1228-1229, the mosque and hospital complex is one of the most significant examples of Islamic architecture in Anatolia. The mosque and Darüşşifası were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985. This masterpiece stands out with its traditional Anatolian stone masonry and wood carving.

The Great Mosque of Divriği stands out not only with its architectural features but also with its historical and cultural value. Designed by Ahlatlı Hürremşah, the mosque stands out with its unique plan type and decorations. Although it has a simple exterior appearance, the crown doors, columns, and dome decorations inside the mosque are mesmerizing. This impressive structure, built with carved stone, holds a unique place in Turkish and Islamic art.

The Darüşşifası of Divriği

The Darüşşifası served as a hospital where various diseases were treated. The hospital complex also includes a water channel believed to have a therapeutic effect on patients due to the sound of water during its construction period. The Darüşşifası is designed as a two-story, courtyard and porticoed structure. With its crown door and decorations, this structure reflects the influences of Central Asian Turks in particular.
