Kocatepe Ataturk Monument

Kocatepe Ataturk Monument is located on Kocatepe, at an altitude of 1874 meters, within the borders of Buyuk Kalecik Town, affiliated to the Center district of Afyonkarahisar province. Kocatepe, which is the place where the Great Offensive was initiated by Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on August 26, 1922, and was conducted and managed, is an important symbol that ensured the liberation of the Turkish nation. The monument was built of cut stone by the Ministry of National Defense in 1953.
